The weather seems colder because of the storm, and Damian Chotis is looking forward to a fire and a good strong cup of tea to warm him. As he returns home after an aborted trip to the airport to pick up his mother, he stumbles upon a stranded motorist. He sends Ian, his bodyguard, to see if they can be of assistance, and he returns with a shy young woman whose rental is definitely going nowhere tonight. Damian offers her a lift, not even flinching when she says she is going to Sag Harbor. Damian assures her it is not a problem, and that they can stop to drop him off and continue on to her destination. With those assurances and her mind soothed, she accepts with alacrity, and gracious thanks.
Cynthis Leigh is impressed with Damian’s hospitality and willingness to offer a stranded traveler a lift, even though it was out of his way. Much to her chagrin, she finds herself at his mercy once more as she finds a note on Germaine’s door. A medical emergency has taken her friend to her mother’s side in Montreal, and Cynthis is stuck without a place to stay, and it is Christmas Eve. Ever on the alert to problems, the chauffeur has already told Damian of her quandary, and Cynthis find herself enjoying more of her charming host’s company. As it turns out, this will be a Christmas both will remember when his ex girlfriend tries to worm her way back into Damian’s affections, and mother steamrollers her way over Cynthis’ feelings.
With over one thousand miles separating them, Cynthis never thinks to se Damian again, but when her one night of indiscretion leads her to the doctor’s office and a Christmas present she wasn’t expecting, she knows what she has to do. Even so, after all is said and done, will a Christmas fling turn into real mess or a love for all time?
