The Rose Of Shiraz
The year is 1870, a period at which England and Russia were engaged in “The Great Game,” political espionage in Central Asia with the aim of strengthening their influence there at each other’s expense. Rose Carson’s brother Stephen has been travelling incognito in Central Asia on her Majesty’s service. During his absence, their father has died suddenly, leaving Rose alone and under the guardianship of Jack Devereaux, the son of Rose’s father’s oldest friend.
But Devereaux is a notorious gambler, drinker, and womanizer, and a man whose only interest in Rose is seduction, willing or otherwise. Leo Davenport, and his golden god-given good looks, could be the way to safety, and to her lost brother.
If he agrees, and if they survive, can they discover more between them than an uncertain destiny, and find Stephen as well?
