Within the Mist
Rumors swirl in the tiny frontier town of Dove Creek, rumors almost as thick as the mists of White Canyon. The canyon is feared, and for good reason. No person who has ever wandered into the mists of White Canyon has ever returned…
Battered and beaten, Dora Morten hangs on the edge of death after surviving a fall down the cliffs of White Canyon. Typhoid stole her family, debt stole her home, and her husband stole everything she had left, abused her for months, and finally discarded her by throwing her down the cliffs.
Now, left for dead at the bottom of the canyon, she prays for an end to her suffering. Her prayers are answered, but not in the way she expects. While she longs for death, a Native man finds her and lifts her into his arms. With gentle determination, he heals her wounds and begins to piece together her soul.
But he is more than he seems, something feral lurks beneath his skin, and Dora is left wondering if the canyon is the peaceful safe haven she’s longed for, or a prison she can never escape.
